"Six Nations Skating Club holds Annual Home Club Competition Saturday"

SIX NATIONS - Twenty-three skaters took part in the Six Nations Skating Club Annual Competition last Thursday at the Gaylord Powless Arena.

Club President Deneen Montour said the club competition is one of the highlights of their season as the first place skaters will have the opportunity to skate in the upcoming carnival "A Walk in the Park" being held March 30.

Skaters in the Carnival will be putting on two shows, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Montour added that all skaters "did a really good job and worked very hard."

The following is a list of each competition flight (group of skaters) and the top skaters from each flight:

• Prelim A - Ryckilynn White (first place), Samantha Montour (second place)
• Prelim B - Julie Ann Hill (first place), Jody Lynn General (second place)
• Pre prelim A - Emily Porter (first place), Jerrica General (second place), Ryanna Miller (third place), and Amber Silversmith (fourth place)
• Canskate A - Kristen Monture (first place), Halley Miller (second place), Hillary Martin (third place)
• Canskate B - Jheri Johnson (first place), Kari Hill (second place), Brett Lickers/Earle (third place), Felicia White (fourth place)
• Novice Elements - Alicia Hill (first place), Kaylen Johnson (second place), Marlee Henry (third place), Newton Henry (fourth place), Joleen Squire-Hill (fifth place), Kristy Martin (sixth place)
• Pre-limin Elements - Shelby Montour (first place), Jerrica General (second place), Ryanna Miller (third place)

Shelby Montour and Julie Ann Hill each skated exhibition solos during the club competition.

Deneen Montour also said the club held their home competition earlier than usual as they have several upcoming competitions such as Caledonia, Dofasco, and Windsor.
