The Liberal Party leader made this statement during a speech before a crowd of around 300 supporters at the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 793 facility at 2245 Speers Rd. Trudeau's bus arrived to applause at around 10 a.m., after which media snapped photos as he was shown how to operate a crane on the site. Oakville Liberal candidate John Oliver and Oakville-North Burlington Liberal candidate Pam Damoff introduced the Liberal leader. "Our plan will be the most significant new investment in our infrastructure in Canadian history. We will invest $60 billion new dollars over 10 years, nearly doubling the current government's planned investment," said Trudeau to the applause of those in attendance. "As we roll out the investment, jobs and growth plan, we will be talking about significant new projects and new ways of financing them. The result will be long-term, stable and predictable funding for provinces, territories and municipalities." Trudeau said the plan would focus on three areas that he says would create economic growth now and make the economy more productive over time. These investment areas include: · public transit infrastructure · social infrastructure, such as affordable housing, seniors facilities, early learning and child care, and cultural and recreational infrastructure · green infrastructure, such as local wastewater facilities, climate resilient infrastructure and clean energy. see Liberal pg. 8 Know brainers.
