a-mu lime to sign up for annual spelling bee Literacy North Halton's 1 lth annual spelling bee fundraiser wiIl be held on Thursday, May 2. Titled the Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee,'the event at Granite Ridge Golf Club wilI begin at 5 p.m. lt's an old-fashioned spelling bee with a twist. Teams of three from local businesses and groups work together to correctly spell words in support of Iiteracy upgrading for adults in the community. This action-packed evening includes more than 20 teams from Georgetown, Milton and Acton businesses and organizations, compet- ing in a fun battle for spelling supremacy. Team registration costs $300 and includes dinner for three team memibers. Prizes are awarded for: best spellers, best team spirit, most pledges raised and best costumes. Tickets for guests, which include dinner, cost $40. Guests can watch the action on stage and browse a silent auction.
