On Tuesday, the Town announced that Rabenda would return as trustee of the board after go- ing unchallenged for the position. D"a RttiÙ* Rabenda has de- cades of experience in education, serving as a teacher, principal and superintendant of the board. She also serves as chair of the board. "I'm delighted to be acclaimed. It is an honour to be able to represent the Catholic board of Milton," she said. According to Rabenda, the biggest challenge facing Milton is the high population growth. In order to keep up, two new elementary schools and a high school have been built, and many more will be needed in the future. One of those needs is the education of our children,"she said. Rabenda said she's excited about the opportunity to sit down at the board table with fresh ideas and new initia- tives for Milton. She promises to take a proactive approach to improving the town's educational programs, including a more focused effort to fostering a sense of spirituality and community. "Milton is a diverse, vibrant and growing community and as trustee I will continue to advocate for rate- payers,"she said. Although she prioritizes academic and spiritual success, Rabenda said the best part of her job is the feel- ing she gets when she works one- on-one with families to help them resoive tough issues. "Seeing children and families grow, especially those who have difficulty attaining new heights, is definitely one of the highlights of the job."
