www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, March 27, 2015 | 20 Friends of the Oakville Public Library Spring Book Sale T his year, the Friends of the Oakville Public Library (FOL) will host its annual Spring Book Sale from April 8-12 in the Central Branch Auditorium. Thousands of gently-used books spanning all genres will be available for purchase, most of which are sold for $1.50 per pound (half price on Sunday). Specially-priced coffee table books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks will also be available. Over the past 20 years, FOL activities have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars, which have been used to support library services, such as TD Summer ReadDVDs or magazines can be purchased at a reasonable cost (25 cents to $1 per item; pricing is indicated at each location). Volunteer roles available The FOL's spring and fall book sales are entirely volunteer run. There are a number of volunteer roles available leading up to and during the biannual sales including sorters, setup and takedown helpers, cashiers and restockers. To get involved, please contact fol@ oakville.ca. ing Club, Battle of the Books, teen-writing workshops, book clubs and more. `Friendly Finds' bookshelves If you are unable to visit the book sale, the Friends of the Oakville Public Library have set up `Friendly Finds' bookshelves at all library branches where a variety of CDs, `Friends Only' night April 8 is `Friends Only' night and access is limited to those who have registered as FOL members. Friends gain admission to the bi-annual sale before it opens to the public and are entitled to `first pick' of sale items. Anyone with an Oakville Public Library card can become a FOL member by visiting a library branch and paying the $10 annual fee.
