accidents in Ontario dropped 118 per cent in the first nine months of 1977 says James Snow minister of transportation and communica tions He says 712 people died in ac cidents between Jan and Sept 30 drivers were killed in motor vehicle accidents in which seat belts were not in use he said The number killed while wear ing belts is 50 During the same period the number of passengers killed in accidents where seat belts were not used was 132 compared to 19 fatalities among passengers wearing belts Snow expressed concern however overa 173 per cent in break for City Hall City hall is open
