the housing ministrys downtown revitalization program The indoor mall to be built at the corner of Dunlop and High streets as an enlargement of the former Canadian Tire building will have about 25 specialty shops and is expected to be nearly completed by the end of March Salter said He said underground parking and addi tional land purchases for parking both dependent on provincial loan assistance have been dropped from the project Also dropped are 80 apartment units which had once been included in the proposal and heat pump system which Salter said would have conserved energy but would have been more expensive to install than conventional heating and air conditioning City council voted Nov 28 to request revitalization loan for the project move which pronokeu an outcry from of the study would also be considered for pro vincial funding with council having the right to choose either the Downtown entre or some other proposal as the citys main revitalization project following completion of the study However the study is not due to end until February and Salter said last week the Downtown Centre developers could not wait that long to decide what to do with their he couldnt remember told him the day after the crash that the warning lights were on about 10 minutes before the plane hit the tower Batchelor said he tested the light sensor but the results were too
