evacuation procedures says Bob French Barries fire preven tion officer French says children in Grades through are going over possible escape routes with him as oart of Fire Prevention Week Oct to 15 15 We talk about what to do when fire breaks out how to lay out escape routes to the closest exists and what responsibilities each family member can have to speed things up he says French makes 20minute presentation to the grade school students and talks with them for another 10 minutes At that level theyre quite aware of fire and very receptive to information on what to do when fire breaks out he says Thats one of the reasons went to that grade level to concentrate on home evacua tion His sessions with Grades through classes are part of series of presentations aim ed at gradeschool levels He started holding them at the 16 public and separate grade schools in Barrie Mon day and will finish Oct 14 French has different ap proaches for different age groups he says With children in kindergarten through Grade just teach them few of the basics he says THE DANGERS tell them not to play with matches and not to pla around fires he sai Another area cover is the dangers of playing in
