ed into cold soggy overnight adventure the three par ticipants will never forget Leonard Hogan son Richard and brotheininlaw Icter Rasmussen set out to find Willow Landing Stinday morn ing They couldnt find it nor could they find their way back The three wandered through the swamp in circles for about 10 hours until they found an abandoned poachers cabin at the junction of the Nottawasaga River anti Willow reck Sunday night They settled in for the night cold wet and tired said Hogan About 830 pm they heard gunshots and police sirens but they couldnt tell where the sounds were coming from he said By then it had started to rain so they decided to stay put and hope for rosette in the morning The cabin wasnt all that much shelter from the elements he said ROOF LEAKED The roof leaked and it was so cold Rasmussen said The mercury dipped to 12C Sunday forcing the three to huddle next to each other to keep warm When the sun came up Mon day morning the three started their day with drink of swampwater Rasmussen said We had no food at all he said We got thirsty so we took drink of swampwater and hoped to get out in three days After walking through the bush for couple of hours the three saw the police helicopter flying over the swamp We tried to flag it down but they couldnt see us for the trees Rasmussen said By noon the three were worn out and little frustrated because they hadnt been able to flag down the helicopter he said About pm they had stop ped for break when they heard voices calling out We just kept yelling and yelling until they found us he said We were just lucky he said Thats all it was Richard said he spent most of his time in the swamp looking forward to his next meal All he could think of was food he said Nothing but food Rasmussen said his nephew handled the situation quite well for kid his age Hes brave little boy Rasmussen also said he will never go into Minesing Swamp again LEGS SORE Speaking from his hospital bed at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie at 330 pm Hogan said his legs were very sore anti seemed to be getting worse ur feet werent too bad un til this morning but things were so wet we couldnt keep the water and the leaves out of our boots The trio all have sore feet and Rasmussan was reported to be running fever Hogan said Ricky lasted real ly good the first day but this morning we were both feeling sorry for ourselves The three were not hard to spot in the emergency ward at Royal Victoria Hospital with all its beds They were the ones who were sunburnt looked very tired and sat up very quickly when the nurse entered the
