By PAT GUERGIS Examiner Staff Reporter huge success is the way organizer Bob Timlock program chairman of the Wasaga Lions Club termed Junefest held at Wasaga this weekend The parade went perfectly the flypast was right on time and we had terrific crowd The rain which dampened the event periodically didnt really have any major efect on the days festivities It didnt really bother us too much Timlock said While the parade was on the rain held ourselves so we did most of the judging off although it brought the bathtub race to quick end and some people had to scurry for cover the contestants didnt really mind Timlock estimated that about 5000 people ined the parade route for the parade The 47 entries in the parade were judged by Lions Larry Choniak Aubrey Girard and Bob Timlock They got little long Timlock was referring to the dedication ceremonies which took place on Nancy Island to name the theatre The William Cranston Electronic Theatre Premier William Davis who was to have judged the parade was not able to attend the days activities due to illness In stead James Auld chairman of the management board of cabinet represented the pro winded over there on the island Vince ntlfl Lunch Beach won first prize for the best commer garden and musicians represented the new hotel swimming pool and playground equipment carried on long flat bed won first prize for the Paris Lions Club in the Lions class This float was representative of the work done by the Lions Club in Paris The Wasaga Beach Dirt Squirts treated the audience to display of motorcycle riding including lots of popping wheelies car with two drivers from the Innisfil Lions each facing opposite directions with his own steeringwheel drove around in circles sideways forwards and backwards to the delight of the children
