uslt ed for events that need it says Ed Tschirhart chairman of the 1977 carnival The ice should only be used for broomball motorcycle races snow shoe fastball and the helicopters Tschirhart said The lakeshore should be used for all other events he said including play area for children 12 years of age and under In his final report to the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce Tschirhart gested the chamber work in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Barrie The Rotary Club operates skating rink on the bay If the Rotary Club would cooperate with us we could keep large area cleared and then use it for our broomball events he said By doing this we would find that the iCe would freeze to greater depth We found that the clearing of the area for broomball is greater than all other combined costs
