here by lronside director of the Orillia Historic Society and member of the Simcoe County Historic Association it has done much to create interest in our historic past and of value to students said erected in Oro Cold water Alliston Collingwood Midland Penetanguishene and other places including Barrie Mr lronside suggested future consideration should be given local plaque in honor of Quetton St George alter whom Quetton street in this OrilliaRama township border community was named GRANTED 2300 ACRES Interviewed at his pictures que home by tributory of the Severn River here Mr lronside reached for book of records in his extensive home library and read out where Quetton St George received grant of some 2300 acres extending from nearby Lake St George to the Severn river in 1831 That opened the way for development of this area the retired businessman and historian said pointing out that year later John Kean who later became an MP and was Simcoe County warden in 1868 built the
