New organ dedicated at Coldwater church By SHIRLEY JENNETT COLDWAIER St An drews Presbyterian church in Coldwater was filled to overflowing when new organ was dedicated to the memory of one of Coldwaters most loved and respected sons the late William Wylie Jr Born and raised in Coldwater the son of Mr and Mrs Wm Wylie Bill was the owner operator of the Wylie Coach Lines business carried on from his father He was mar ried to the former Elma Bartlett and the couple had two children David of Calgary and Susan Mrs John Smith of Ayr Besides transporting public and high school children Mr Wylie was in the charter business and was well known for his friendliness and kind ness towards all he met as well as his keen sense of humor Bill passed away at Wawa Oct 1975 on his return from the western provinces with new bus The Wylie family have been associated with St Andrews since its early days and Bill was an elder and roll clerk of the Kirk Session at the time of his deathIhe organ is gift from the Wylie family and the members of the Simcoe County School Bus Operators Associa tion the board members of Area Two of the Simcoe County Board of Education the River side Senior Citizens club the Huronia Horticultural Society friends neighbors and the school students of the Cold Water area David Wylie made the presentation and it was ac cepted on behalf of the church elders by John Jennett Mrs John Smith nee Susan Wylie played the new organ following the presentation and throughout the remainder of the service Mrs Gladys Plunkett of Toronto but who was born and raised in Col dwater and has been life long friend of the Wylie Family sang two solos during the service Holy Night and Art Thou Weary Mrs Plunkett has been singing with the Men delssohn Choir for 30 years Friends the new deputy reeve The latter has been serving on the Essa plann ing board Deputy Reeve Maurice Miller Will be back as one of three councillors The other two will be Bev Regan who topped the polling
