psychiatric hospital had spent month in the hospitals adult ward Judge James Fuller who signed the 30day admission order said the administrator of Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital had said the boy would spend only day in the hospital adult ward before being transferred to the adolescent ward Itdisturbs megreatlythat the youngster spent whole month in the adult ward said Judge Fuller Hes such tiny lad He looks 10yearsold rather than 14 and no one found it strange that he was in an adult ward for 30 days when theres an adolescent unit on the hospital grounds Judge Fuller said he had sent the boy whose family recently had come to Canada from Portugal to the Lakeshore hospital because he knew the psychiatrist spoke Portuguese and un derstood the boys cultural background When he telephoned the hospital Dec 18 the judge said he spoke with the unit director Dr Milton Marcilio He said he was informed the policy of the unit was that no child was admitted before an assessment Says prejudices hit
