Tournament organizers committed to match another $50,000 next year, which will go to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and McMaster Children's Hospital. Kate said the group's most recent annual Valentine's Chocolate Drive at Fortinos in Oakville raised $8,000 for SickKids. Robbie's Rainbow recently released a video with About Kids Health to prepare children for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. First Canadian Title (FCT) emphasizes social responsibility "MRIs can be very scary for children because they're very loud and are in closed, confined spaces. We want to make sure they understand that every time they have the procedure they feel more at ease and comfortable," she said. Kate and Robbie will head to Ottawa next month to meet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to discuss the charity and its successes. "For a 12-year-old, it's absolutely incredible. I'm 38 years old and I'm in awe that I get to meet him (Harper) alongside my son. Another great opportunity to do something with Robbie that I will remember forever," Kate said. Oakville's First Canadian Title (FCT), a title life insurance provider, received the nod for Outstanding Corporation. FCT has established numerous partnerships with organizations Canada-wide, including Habitat for Humanity, Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society, Food for Life, Mission Services London and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. Wendy Rinella, FCT vice-president of corporate affairs, said social responsibility is "really important" and a high priority for FCT. "We know there are very impressive and wonderful companies engaged in corporate social responsibility, so we're really delighted to be included and recognized," said Rinella. For more than 10 years, the Hamilton branch staff have partnered with the Around the Bay Road Race to support St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation, raising more than $150,000 for patient care and groundbreaking research. For FCT, National Philanthropy Day is "a moment we can all take to pause and recognize what others are doing and give them recognition in the community," she said. "We value corporate social responsibility and charitable giving. It is a way of encouraging others to participate as well.
