Concert aims to bridge Canada, China through music The Oakville Meeting House is hosting a concert Saturday (Sept. 27) that plans to link Canada and China through the international language of music, say organizers. The Classical Chinese Music Concert will be held at the 2700 Bristol Circle worship centre from 6:30-9:30 p.m. "The concert will bridge people through music as well as promote communication on culture matters between Canada and China," said Feihong Nan, who will be a featured performer at the concert. Playing the GuZheng, the traditional Chinese plucked zither, Feihong will be performing as part of the Maple Chinese Music Ensemble, i-Guzheng group. The instrument's name is derived from the Chinese Gu, meaning ancient, long history, and Zheng, meaning zither, explained Feihong.
