Nurse Sampson was to have addressed the U.F.| W.O. on nursing and caring for the sick. but owing to car trouble was unable to .get to the meeting. A paper was then read by a` member. entitled How to Care for the Sick in the Home," which brought out some very good points. A joint meet- -ing wasthen held of the two clubs, opening with fteen minutes of community sing- ing. The creed was repeated by all. fol- lowed by the question drawer. which is being conducted by Mrs. Walker Caldwell and Mrs. N. McCuaig. The programme of the evening was to havebeen a mock session_ of the Ontario Legislature. `but itl absence of some who were to -take part. '.Current Legislation was taken by Alex. .Graham. who gave a lengthy address on lihmv "the sessions of parliament are con- ducted, which was listened to with earnest_ attention. .Norman C_amnbell- then ad- dressed the mee`ing on What the Grand Jury _s Work Is"; told of his trip while on the Grand Jury to see the Home at Beeton and the Children s Shelter. Barrie. and also spoke of the" very "sanitary con- ditions of the Simcoe `County jail and its surroundings. The meeting was closed with the National An`hem. Lunch was then served and all enjoyed an hour s friendly chat. with selections on the phonograph. The next meeting is to held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Campbell. July 20. at 8 pm. Saturday night. and asked to stay for the night. Mr. Beath declined. as Mrs. Beath was not home. A'little later. while Mr. Beath was talking to a. neighbor at the barn.` the stranger broke into the house by pull- ing out a staple and took $30 which was upstairs.
