Geared towards Oakville seniors who may not have the opportunity to see the holiday lights first-hand, the Town of Oakville and dozens of generous volunteers will host the event, which starts at 6:45 p.m. Eligible Oakville residents can pick up their complimentary tour tickets at any Town of Oakville seniors centre prior to the event. Volunteer off-duty Oakville Transit drivers and limousine drivers from Ward Funeral Home will escort 175 guests to take in thousands of beautiful lights on display throughout town. To ensure a bright and joyful tour, Oakville residents are encouraged to turn on their holiday lights a little earlier to enhance the show. As one of the tour stops, seniors will be greeted at Town Hall for refreshments and entertainment. Tickets are required to participate in the event. They are available at Sir John Colborne Seniors Centre, Oakville Seniors' Centre, Iroquois Ridge Older Adults Centre and Queen Elizabeth Park Older Adult Centre. Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) Class Environmental Assessment Study From Neyagawa Boulevard (Regional Road 4) to Oak Park Boulevard Town of Oakville PR-2550A Class Environmental Assessment Study Notice of Study Completion Study Halton Region has completed a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to address future travel demands on Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) from Neyagawa Boulevard (Regional Road 4) to Oak Park Boulevard, within the Town of Oakville. The study has been conducted in compliance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, amended 2007 & 2011), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Taking into consideration the comments that were received from the Town of Oakville, regulatory agencies and the public, Halton Region is recommending a preferred design which includes the widening of Dundas Street to a sixlane urban cross section to provide for the long-term transition to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) by 2031. This study provides an opportunity to develop multimodal transportation improvements along Dundas Street which includes enhancement as an attractive corridor for pedestrians and cyclists, integrating new and existing land uses with heritage and natural features. If no request is received by Monday January 13, 2014, Halton Region intends to proceed with detailed design and construction of this project as outlined in the ESR.
