The Bruins women's team (5-2-1 in OCAA play) scored early and late in the first half on their way to a 3-1 victory over Lambton in their qualifier. Kayla McPherson-Brassington scored twice for Sheridan, including an insurance marker in the second half, and Kaysia Williams also tallied. "The first half was outstanding, the second half not so much," said assistant coach Nadene Boothe. "But we got the job done, and that's what matters." The women's team will next travel to Ottawa to face Algonquin in the quarter-finals. Sheridan's men's team (7-1-1 OCAA) got by Redeemer 2-1 in its qualifying game. The Bruins, who got goals from Jonathan Rufino and Chris Divizio-Mendes, will face Centennial in the quarter-final round.
