www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, June 14, 2013 | 20 The bronze frog man, Tim Cotterill, is living the dream in California. HE'S BACK! We are honoured and delighted once again to have world famous sculptor Bronze frog creator to visit The Bronze Frog Gallery Meet bronze frog creator Tim Cotterill at The Bronze Frog Gallery Saturday, June 15 and have your exclusive frog signed by the artist. His frogs are crafted from bronze, although first time viewers most often guess that they are made of glass. Gallery owner Kathy Thomas, hands them one of Cotterill's beautiful, jewel patina frogs and the look of pure surprise is always her reward. "Wow! They're heavy". Then she lets them in on the secret. "They're bronze". And at that moment, it's love at first sight. Her own journey to bring Tim Cotterill's frogs to Canada began totally by accident. While on vacation in the Bahamas in February, 2003, she stumbled upon Tim's frogs in a gallery. She totally understands her customers' infatuation with the frogs. When she saw them, she was truly smitten. And the rest is now history. The Oakville gallery has 452 collectors listed in its data base. Cotterill's frogs have been shipped all across Canada. Of the more than 125 galleries worldwide, Canadian collectors have made the gallery's sales rival the top 15. Cotterill emigrated from England to California in the early 1990s. He had always loved sculpting and had created some incredible metal birds. Those metal birds were sold to finance his move to his new home, Venice Beach. Living in the English country-side, Tim was intrigued by frogs in a neighbouring pond. When he started to sculpt, the frogs took on personalities with human traits. With more than 160 incredible sculptures in his collection, celebrities and regular folks alike love and collect his work. Cotterill will be in the gallery, at 162 Lakeshore Rd. E. on Saturday afternoon, June 15. When he tells the story of his journey from a working class family to "living the dream", his audience shares his delight. Cotterill created an exclusive frog with only 100 in the edition for our gallery collectors. He will sign your frog in person. If you would like one, call to reserve at 905-849-6338.
