Halton Regional Police launch 2011 Safe Prom Initiative i The Halton Regional Police Service, Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board have partnered togetheron an important initiative regarding road safety and the well being of students. Every year, students throughout the Region celebrate prom season. While generally a happy occasion, it also comes with inherent risk due to drug and/or alcohol abuse and impaired driving. On May 4th, the 2011 Safe Prom launched at various high schools, using a staged car wreck to re present the tragic conseq uences incurred by those driving while impaired.
