St. Pauls United Church, 123 Main St. E., will present 'The Truth About Christmas' December 9 at 7:30 p.m. The show will include Canadian humourist Nils Ling and musical guests Cynthia MacLeod and Cordon Belsher. "This is a top rated ensemble," said concert organizer Jack White. Ling has been making audiences around the world laugh for decades. His two previous shows have sold out across the country. MacLeod is one of the East Coast's top young fiddlers and a winner of five Prince Edward Island Music Awards, while Belsher is one of PEls premier singers and instrumentalists. This holiday show "will melt your heart and tickle your funny bone," organizers say Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for kids 12 and younger. Curtis performing for youth centre Canada's Singing Priest - otherwise known as Father Mark Curtis - will present a fundraising Christmas concert next Friday featuring music from his new Christmas CD, Coming Home. The Coming Home Christmas Concert will take place at 8 p.m. at Southside Community Church, 2850 Derry Rd. All proceeds from the show will go to The Deck youth centre, which operates drop-in programs for local teens. The concert will feature special guests Erin Hooper and the children's choir of Milton Christian School. Tickets cost $1 5 each and are available at Bergsma's Home Décor, Gallinger Ford Lincoln and Pur Health and Fitness. Curtis will also be on hand tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at A Country Mile on Main Street to sing a few numbers from his new CD and sign copies. Battle of vocal chords It'Il be a battle of the vocal chords in downtown Milton tonight as local schools compete for the Carollers Cup. The event, hosted by the Milton Downtown Business Improvement Area, will take place at 7 p.m. outside Knox Presbyterian Church at 170 Main St. Students from each participating school will perfornm two Christmas carols for a panel of judges. The winning school will take home the Carollers Cup to display in its trophy cab- net until next years challenge. It'll also receive a pizza party and a plaque.
