The recent verdict front the board means 566 homes planned for the soutbeast corner of Denry and Tremaine Roads can now go ahead. Fernando Goncalves and the business he owns on Tremtaine Road, Streetsville Bush Auto Wreckers and Parts mnc., filed a notice of appeal that states, "The proposed zoning changes are incompatible witb the existing use of my property as an auto recycling yard and, in my view, bad planning." Lt goes on to say, "Storm water management will raise issues and disputes as to potential contamination of water courses. 1 am con- cenied that 1 will be blamed for otl contamina- tion, for example, that is caused by the resi- dential land owner dumping a litre of old oil from their lawnmower into a pond or water course." But, the OMB's decision says Goncalves dîdn't appear at the heaning or file a notice of response. That, combined witb affidavit cvi- dence presented by Mattamy Homes in sup- port of its motion to dismiss the appeal, led to the bearing ollicer throwing the case out.
