Also last week, the girls' rugby teamn Had a special treat. The Mandarin's food was a dreamn, And the awards they won couldn't be beat. And on Thursday, agatnst Loyola, the bantam boys' rugby did play, A great team spirit and effort they did display. Last Wednesday we celebrated our grads, Witb a grad poil ceremnony and awards. Lots of awards where up for grabs. And of food, there were hoards. On the ftrst of June, The Coffee House did take place, Everyone had a wonderful lime, I presumne, The grads that performed will be bard to replace. Over the pasi few weeks, students have been busy running campaigns and voting to eleci the new wave of sttsdent government members. Congratulations are in order for the athletics depariment as a number of teams are making their way to the OFSAA championships. Read on for further information about these evenîs and more... BR's athietes are OFSAA bound! We have the great bonor of sending one of our very own track and field students to this prestigious competition. We ail wonld like t0 wish W ayndale Bennett good luck in the competition ahead. Also, a good luck goes out to our senior boys' soecer ieam who also qualified for OFSAA. There is no shortage of school spirit ai BR with two teams qaalifying for OFSAA and the athletic banquet coming up this Thursday. Remember to pick up your tickets in the piazza on third and fourth lunches. The much anîicipated announcement of the nesv Student Council happened on Friday, May 26th. Although the votes were very close, especially for lte Grade 12 represeritatives, the winners are sure to be a good choice. Next year's Grade 10 Reps are Sabrina Brown and Michelle Cabigao, and the Grade Il Reps are Mackenzie Cummers and Kathelene Johnston. The future grade 12 Represeniatives are Erin Hetherington and Leat MeNeil. The Vice- President of Student Counsel will be Julia Riddell, and the President will be Zak Sholte. Thankfully, the candidates that did not gel elected will be heading the Student Advisory Committee next year that will work closely with the Student Council. This is a great idca, since it will give former student councel members Carissa Lawther and Jade Ryan more opportunities to make improvements within the school. Next year is sure 10 be amazing! On Wednesday, May 241h, the Bishop Reding choir performed in the Mion's annual Music tFestival ut Holy Rosary Parish. They performed three songs from their outstanding repertoire. and their performance was critiqued by a judge. Because of iheir fabulons singing, the choir, conducted by Ms. Caruana, was awarded a scholarship for the BR music depacimeni, as well as a caîl back 10 perform in the festival's wrap-up celebrations ou Suuday, May 28th. This performance featnred a solo by Sherwîn Whyte in the pîcce "Richard Rogers in Concert". Congratulations to the choir and Ms. Caruana. for their commîtînent t0 excellence in mnsic, boîh in and out of school.
