The Canadian Champion, Friday, May 6, 2005-B1 /l ode # w; ~ a~ Dance Elite nets hefty hardware haul at festival Host of awards earned in Hamilton One of Mîlton's dance studios shone bnightly ut a recent festival in Hamilton, where the studio's studentu gamnered many gold and platinum awards. Students of Dance Elîte Studio competed ai the SturCatchers Dance Festival last month, making parents and teachers alike proud. The studio received the StarCatchers Top Studio Spinit Awurd for the sportsman-like conduct of uts dancers. Dancer Jade Ryan won the Starlight Award, whîch is gîven to the dancer with the highest achievement. Teammate Mallory Ryan took home the Starbright Awurd, which is given to, the dancer attaining greater than 90 per cent from euch judge. Dance Elite also won three overal highest score trophies. Love Machine, choreographed by Mamie Palmer, won Overaîl Mini Novice Group. This jazz ensemble includes members Taylor Albin, Devon Brown, Hannah Dines, Christina Donovan, Salinu Jackson, Chloe Jeppesen, Alexandra Redden, Daniela Serverino and Elizabeth Sheppard. The Overali Junior Novice Group uward was won by the mod- emn dance routine 'Cybertronics.' choreographed by Jennifer Pender. It included dancers Diana Beut, Cassandra Brown, Sabrina Brown, Amber Fuy, Brianna Fitzsimmons, Lexi Hunter. Ashley Molyneaux and Surah Noms. The Overali Senior Novice Duet award went to dancers Sabrina Brown and Cassandra Brown, who performed their 'Anything You Can Do' musical theatre duet, which was choreographed by Surah Barecca.
