5 Rural road work set to begin at Sixth Line, Lower Base Road work coutd soon start on parta of Sixth Line and Lower Base Line. Town council passed bytaws August 30 to make way for the reconstruction and temporacy dlo- sure of Sixth Line from Lower Base Line to Britannia Road and Lower Base Line from Trafalgar Road to Ninth Line. The Sixth Line project wiII include realigning and reptacing Bailey bridge with a two-tane per- manent structure, reconstructrng the coud [rom Lower Base Line to about 400 metres nortit of the bridge to include gravel shoutders and a paved surface and installing guiderails and retaintng watts. On Lower Base Line, construc- tion wilI involve shifting the centre lime about tbree metres to the south. "Thtis reatignruent minimizes the removat of vegetation ini front of severat residents, maintains signifi- cant nigbt-of-way hedgerows and inctudes adequate pavement width, including a t .2-metre-wide shoul- der," Mr. Cripps' report said. Both projects are expected to wrap up next May. -Paving project gets approval The Town wiII soon spend $50.000 on an unexpected paving project on Cedacbrae Avenue. Town staff and councillors reported tbat they've received complaints; about a trencb that's been created on the easterty section of thse road as a resutt of waterruain work compteted by the Region. At tbe Augout 30 councit meet- ing, Ward 4 Councillor John Challinor proposed that thse easter- ty section of Cedarbrae be resur- faced this yeac.
