John Fleming Mr. Fleming brings a vast array of outstanding experience to the Board. Having served six years as Deputy Minister in the Province of Ontario in four different portfolios including the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the Ministry of Correctional Services, and most recently the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Mr. Fleming has a keen understanding of the issues facing the health system as well as the challenges facing governments at all three levels. Mr. Fleming also brings his experience from past roles in senior municipal government including his experience as Chief Administrative Officer of the Region of Halton. Mr. Fleming is currently the CEO of the Arthritis Society. Maureen Latocki Ms. Latocki is an articulate health industry expert with an accom- plished background in public affairs, government and not-for- profit sectors. In her current role as Vice-President, Public Affairs with Hill and Knowlton Canada, Ms. Latocki leads the Health & Pharma Cluster in the Toronto Office. Ms Latocki brings an extensive network of contacts within the Ontario community health and hospital sectors through her work for the Toronto District Health Council and the Ontario Hospital Association. MEET YOUR VOLUNTEERS Barbara Burton has been an active volunteer in many organizations, including twenty-five years with the Metro Children's Aid Society; the Milton District Hospital, Board of Directors (1994-98); Chair of the Accreditation Committee, Quality Committee She has been a member of the Halton Healthcare Services, Board of Directors (1998 - present), and her tenure has included the role of Chairperson. Barbara was nomi- nated as the Milton Citizen of the Year in 2001. She volun teers as a pastoral visitor with St. George's Anglican Church.
