The folks at Crawford Lake Conservation Area do, and they want to teach you at the annual Spirit Sings event. The evening of traditional First Nations teachings, games and food will take place August 15 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Imagine sipping hemlock tea around a campfire as the moon and stars appear above the longhouses of the reconstructed 15th-century Iroquoian village. Hearty Iroquoian foods will be perfect preparation for a session of traditional games designed to challenge and delight visitors of all ages. Visitors will also have the opportunity to leam many secrets of the forest as they par- ticipate in a guided moonlight hike. Finally, special guest Joe Paquette will take visitors back in time and give them a new perspective with the gift of story- telling. Pre-registration is required for this event and space is limited, so call early. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for children aged eight to 14 and seniors. It includes park admission for the day as well as all event activities. Please note this event isn't recommended for children younger than eight years old. The Ontario Agri-Food Education hosts the seventh annual General Store Professional Development Day and Resource Fair August 31 ai Country Heritage Park. The event is geared to elementary and secondary school teachers who have the opportunity to participate in agriculture and food workshops, view exhibits and collect the latest resources related to agri- culture and food. Registrations now accepted Kilbride Area Co-op Pre-school is now accepting registrations for the 2004/05 school year.
