The site for the new plant, at Rebecca St. and Great Lakes Blvd. in Oakville, was presented at a Public Information Centre in June 2003. The new facility will incorporate a new raw water intake pipe in Lake Ontario, a water transmission main and a pumping station in addition to the main plant facility. The next phase of the Environmental Assessment will assess potential water treatment technologies, and provide conceptual designs for the plant based on the technology options.
