8--The Canadien ChamDion. Fnidav. November 28. 2003 1 heard about a father who was watching his small son draw a picture. Intensely focused, the young boy was totally engrossed in his work of art. Crayons were scattered everywhere. Unfinished sketches were wadded and cast aside. Without wanting to break the boy's concentration, dad gently inquired, "Son, what are you drawing?" Neyer lookmng up, the small boy replied, "God." Somewhat taken aback, his father said, "Well, no one knows what God looks like." Confidently gazing at his master- piece, the boy retorted, "They will when 1 get through." We ail have a picture of God in our minds. And our picture of God is critically important to who we are. In fact, our picture of God is St. George's Anglican Church, Lowville 7051 Guelph Line, lusi north of Derry Road Sunday, November 30, 2003 AD VENT 1 8:30 - Holy Communion 10:30 arn. - Morning Prayer 10:30 a.m. - Family Service in Auditorium Nursery and Sunday School provideti 4:30 p.m. - Music at Twilight for Adveot Rector: The Revereni Canon Charlie Masters For more information caîl 905-878-1363 Visit our Websites www.stgeorgeslowvme." and -vw.r1yaktm NEW - *-D E 82 eHMPO R D S . If so, then a spiritual flaw regard- ing our mental picture of God can have a devastating effect on our faith. We must have a right view of God, or else it will be distorted and out of focus. God recognized the value of a divine portrait and inspired Isaiah to prophetically paint a portrait of the coming Christ several hun- dreds of years prior to His arrivai. In reference to the coming Christ, he wrote: He wiIl be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
