Many people were laid-oit from their jobs and they needcd help making Christmas special for their familie%. The Salvatioti Army was there to lend a hand. The Toy Shop has toys and gifts for chul- drcn ofl al ages. but more gtfts are needed f'or the oldcr kids and teenagers. Items such as curling irons. small radios. coutmpact discs. and dlock radios. are lu high demanti. The major challenge facing the Salvation Army this vear ks finding volunteers to run thc ketties at mnany locations in the comn- niunity. ln fact. the lack of volunteers has forced the Salvation Army to postpone the begin- ning of the kettie campaign this year. -We really need approximately 20 peo- pie to help with the ketties that donations arc placed in," said Ms Good. "in order to make in a success.- lifyou can spare a few hours throughout the week to give the Saivation Army a hand in asststing our communiiy, it would bc greatly appreciated as wouid any dona- tions of gifts, money. or non-perishahie food items.
