The purpose and effect of the proposed Sign By-law is to: • Repeat existing Sign By-law 18-82 and amending By-laws 33-91 and 74-93, being By-laws to regulate the erection, class, location and type of signs and/or advertising devices in the Town of Milton and replace the By-laws with a New Sign By-law to meet the needs of the Town, the sign industry, Milton businesses and the general public. The Purpose of this meeting is: • to inform Town Council, landowners, area residents, and interested individuals about the proposed Sign By-law • to provide an opportunity for interested individuals to ask questions and express their views regarding the proposed by-law, Town Council shall hear any person, who, prior to the Council meeting indicated in the notice, contacts the Office of the Town Clerk at (905) 878-7252 and applies to be heard prior to 4:30p.m. October 23rd, 2002. Helen Lisi Town Clerk Date: September 27 2002 NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT Sixth Line Improvements From Lower Base Line to the Bailey Bridge at East Sixteen Mile Creek Town of Milton The Study The Town of Milton is conducting a study to investigate improvements to Sixth Line from Lower Base Line to the Bailey Bridge at East Sixteen Mile Creek, a dis- tance of approximately 1.5 km. The study includes: pavement rehabilitation and the addition of gravel shoulders; replacement of the guide rail at the corrugated steel pipe culvert; improvements to the horizontal alignment and vertical profile of the Bailey Bridge at East Sixteen Mile Creek; barrier extensions and warning signage at the Bailey Bridge; and, poten- tial replacement of the existing Bailey Bridge with a new two lane single span structure with concrete abutments. LEA Consulting Ltd. is managing the study on behalf of the Town of Milton. LGL Limited is providing environmental design and planning services on behalf of LEA. The Process The study is following the planning process for a Scheduled "C" project in accordance with the "Municipal Class Environmental Assessment" (MEA, 2000), with the opportunity for public input throughout. Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the process will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment and will be available for public review and comment. Public notification will be given at that time. Public Information Centre Two Public Information Centres (PICs) are planned in association with this study, with the first PIC scheduled for: Date: Thursday, October 3, 2002 Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Key Plan Location: Boyne Community Centre Britannia Road (east of Regional Road 25 on the north side of Britannia Road) The PIC will consist of an informal drop-in centre with displays showing existing conditions, the problem/oppor- tunity statement, the justification for the project, alternative solutions, and the proposed evaluation criteria that will be used to select the preferred design. Town of Milton staff and their consultants will be on hand to answer any questions. Comments We are interested in hearing any comments that you may have about the study.
