At that point t was nearing Il p.m. and both media and supporters were becoming anxious for Mr. Reed to recognize his win. So in keeping with past days spent on stage and screen, he gave the audience what they wanted. "This b very satisfying. The people of Halton have been very good 10 me, I just hope I can live up b their expeclations," said Mr. Reed, who took aIl but onc of 1hz tirst îwo dozen polIs showing auJ won many by more than twiLe Ihal ol 1hz Alliance Partys Tim Dobson and Progressive Conservative Tom Kilmer. Taking an overview of the first few dozen polIs, Mr. Reed said he was some- what surprised by the support for Mr. Dobson, explaining that door-to-door catI- ing indicated "a lot ol people were worricd abouLthe Alliance."
