Other councillors also expressed concerna over bbc application. Criminal or unsavoury elementa which are often linked to strip clubs worried Councillor Brian Pesman. And Councillor Bany Lee was concerned that once a site bas been deemed appropriate for strip bars, it ntays that way in perpetuity. The applicant is bIse owner of two strip bars on tbe same site in Guelpb. He's been in the business for 20 yearn and bas neyer faced criminal chargea, aaid bis nolicitor, David Stare. The applicant had searched hard for an accept- able site for the controversial enterpnse, added Mr. Starr. But Councillor Cindy Lunau said she han neyer heard anyone say a ntrip bar in needed in town. "t don't get an overwhelming sense that the community wants thin," nhe aaid. "I've heard them ask for bowling alleys and movie theatren and outdoor akateboard parks, but I can bonently nay I've neyer heard anyone of any sex or any bunineas partner nay that what we really need ina stop club."
