The founder and CEO of Mattamy Homes was named into the Order of the Business Hall of Fame Companions by Chancellor Tom O'Neill, along with Ian Greenberg, president and CEO of Astral Media, David Mirvish, president of Ed Mirvish Enterprises, and Joseph Shannon, president of Atlantic Corporation. "The inductees have been chosen for the signi cant contributions they have made to Canada's economy, its citizens and the examples they have set for others," O'Neill said in a news release. The event took place at the 35th annual Business Hall of Fame gala dinner and induction ceremony held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 1. "The Order of the Business Hall of Fame is the highest honour of its kind in Canada," stated the release. "Each year, business leaders are nominated by their fellow peers and are chosen by an independent selection committee representing Canada's foremost business, academic and media institutions." All proceeds from the event go towards the Junior Achievement Peter Gilgan of Canada, which helps young Canadian students discover nancial literacy, entrepreneurial and work readiness skills.
