Wben things got sticky later on as tbe defence faiered, dropping two gamea meant that the Sox fin- isbed the toumament ai 3-3. Manager Larry Black is quietly confident despite the defensive lapse. "This is a îeam of eigbt majors and six minors (in age grouping) playing good quality basebaîl against mostîy major midget teams. We are slowly starting 10 gel and by the (league) playoffs and OBAs (provincial playdowns) we will be contenders." Milton faced tougb Tbornbill in game one and the Red Sox were doubled 6-3. Nathan Perroti was the losing pitcher, going the distance and surrendering eigbi bits and five walks while striking oui îwo. Mike Austen cracked two singles. Jeff MacLeod launcbed a double and swatted in a mun, Jordan Jeans doubled and Perroit belped oui witb a single. Reese Davies and Jeans were solid in the infield wbile Paul Duff, MacLeod and Austen patrolled the perîmeter effectively. In game two Milton edged hosi Mississauga North 9-8. Jarred Konkle was the winning pitcher, surrender- ing nine bits and a walk wbile setting down tbree. Perroti was hot ai the plaie wiib two doubles' and a triple. He baîted in two runs.
