Historic chu rch obtains grant of arms and letters By KAREN SMITH The Champion The dedication of a Grant of Arms and Letters Patent marked the 155th anniver- sary of St. John's Anglican Church in Campbeltville Sunday. Officially unveiled at the special service, the Grant of Arma and Letters Patent con- siats of two engraved l'ramed parchment documents, one containing the church's coat of arma - an armorial (heraldic) design and motto - and thse other signed by the govemor general of Canada. The coat of arms is made up of a white shield emblazoned with the Cross of St. George on a red square. The crest also depicts a golden eagle representing St. John on one corner and two crossed peace pipes at the top corner as a symbol of Nassagaweya's ahoriginal background. The motto, inscribed in black lettering on a golden scroll, waa taken from the Book of Psalms. It reads: 1I will always esee ST.
