Were very excited because we have had an excellent response from local employers and we hope that ail local businesses will post their summer student jobs with us. There has also been a high volume of student traffic through the Centre since the doors opened May 4th. the Centre provides a var- iety of free services for both stud- ents and employers. High-school and post secondary students are encouraged to use our centre as a starting point for their summer job search. New in our centre this year, we have a comput- er with access to our internet Job Bank web site where students can view job listings in Milton and sur- rounding areas. We also provide assistance in resumne writing and have a computer available for stud- ents to use to type their resumne. In addition we can help students to prepare for job interviews and pro- vide information on government programs. For employers we provide free job postings that usually receive a great response due to the large volume of students that use our facilities. So please keep the centre in mind to help you fill any job openings! We can also give informa- tion regarding wage subsidy oppor- tunities and minimum wage regulations. Local business and homeowners can take advantage of our "Odd Job Squad" that, consista of studenta willing to do casual jobs for home- owners or those in need of hard- working labour under a short term basis. These studenta names are kept on a list, so that employers who need help immediately (usually the next day), can get a quick response. These jobs can include anything from cutting the lawn, painting, to childcare. So for those of you who are overworked, hire a student so you can sleep in on the weekends.
