RESThUCTIJRING UPDATE We are busy evaluating the interim report of the Health Services Restructuring Commission and preparing our responses to it. As you have read in the Champion, the Hospital is pleased that our Emergency, Topatient and Outpatient Services will continue to be provided here in Milton. We will also, work to ensure the directed amalgamation with the Oakville Hospital will he beneficial to both communi- ties. We do however have serious concerns with the number of inpatient beds the Commission feels will meet our community's needs. We are also carefully reviewing the funding dollars that they recommend wsill be needed to operate these beds in the future. Look for regular updates here, in the Monitor, as we work our way through the opportunities and challenges that this interim report generates. We'll do our hest to keep you informed. Our Hospital has a proud history and a hright future - and we couldn't have done it without the extraordinary efforts of our two biggest supporters - our Auxiliary and our Foundation. Both organizations work tirelessly in support of patient care at our Hospital - whether through direct service to patients or in active fundraising pro- grams. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony bas been taking place in December for several years. Every donation to the Buy a Bulb campaign lights a bulb or string of bulbs on our special Tree of Caring or In Memoriam tree. This year's contributions will be used to help finance a cardiac monitoring system for the ICU. We have asked the MDH staff to, represent the A BIG THANK YOU TO.... Rockwell International for their kind donation of $500. DON'T STRUGGLE WITH YOUR GIFT WVRAPPING... bring your packages to the Milton Mail and the Auxiliary will wrap it FREE!
