Oliver once again earned the title of Halton's highest paid public sector ofcial with the Sunshine List, noting he received $477,520.48 in salary and taxable bene ts in 2012. The list, which discloses public sector salaries for those making more than $100,000, recorded Oliver as receiving slightly more in 2011 at $477,838.62 and more still in 2010 at $478,207.28. While Oliver's salary did not rocket up this year like some public sector CEOs, Ontario New Democrat Leader Andrea An Understanding Idle No More presentation, hosted Tuesday evening by the Halton Catholic District School Board and the Halton Regional Police Service, drew approximately 120 people to the Halton Regional Centre. To others, however, it is so much more. Aboriginal journalist and educator Wab Kinew spoke about the protest movement Tuesday at an event hosted by the Halton Catholic District School Board and Halton police at the Halton Regional Centre. Kinew said it was important to understand the group's origins and its context within Canada's history of aboriginal relations.
