Caregiver, associates face fraud-related charges Halton police have issued arrest warrants for six people on fraud-related charges after an Oakville senior was allegedly scammed out of more than $300,000 by his caregiver and her associates. Between 2010-11 the senior employed a woman in his home to assist him with daily living. During that time, police allege, the caregiver had access to the man's banking and financial records and utilized her position to siphon funds from the senior's bank accounts. Police allege the funds were illegally transferred into fictitious accounts and subsequently withdrawn by the caregiver's associates. The estimated loss is in excess of $300,000.
