Brooklin Kinsmen on the other hand had a six- th place finish but had shown growlng strength near the end of regular play. Earlierý games in the 12 team double- knock out tourney saw Kinsmen easily hand Dairy Queen a 23-9 los whire Myers blanked a strong Gartier-Mc- Namara teamn 7-0. Brooklin's 11-7 defeat of second place Donut Press galned themn the rlght to meet Myers for what wou Id be the first of their meetings of the weekend. In the ffrst match-up, Myers disclplined type of play resulted in a 7-5 win. This defeat meant Brooklin was faced with the task of beating three tearns in succession on Sunday to gain a berth in the final champion- shipgame. The Rotary Club team was the first to go down with an' 8-4 score. Rotary had surprised everyone Up to that point having defeated Swish 2-1, Dairy Queen 10-7 and Consumers' Gas 5-3 in earlier tour- nament play. Quite a record when they had not won one game al year. Donut Press, who had earlîer defeated the strong Peacock. Sport team 18-4, came up one run short against Brooklin, a 7-6 los. Meanwhlle, Myers had handed the A-Teamn their first losof the tournament. This set the stage for Brooklin's match again- st the A-Team. Many fans felt that Brooklin could be tiring out havlng already played two games on Sunday. Such wasn't the case as the A-Team's usually tough defence broke down and Broodlin romped to an 18-5 win. That win earned Brooklln the berth in the final againit Bob Myers. The game was filled with excellent 'hitting and field play and Brooklin squeaked by with a 6-4 win in the bot- tom of the firsi. extra in- ning. This being Bob Myers first lois, another game had to be played - Brooklin's fifth and Myers third for the day. Again a fantastic game with these eight and nine year olds showing great skill and knowledge of the game. It was tied going into the bottom of the lait regular inning and with two out a sharp drive to left field sent the win- ning run home and with it the championship to Bob Myers.
