CAPERS ON ICE The Whitby Figure Skating Club presents "Calendar Capers on Ice" on March 29 at the Iroquois Park Arena with two per- formances at 1 and 7 p.m. The guest skaters for the performance will be Gary Beacon who won fourth place in the Canadian Figure Skating Champion- ships and the Whitby Cham- pion Precision Skating Teams. DANCE The Whitby Iroquois Swim Club will be holding their spring fund raising dance at the Heydenshore Pavilion April 25. ART TRACK '81 The Whitby Arts Station will present an exhibition of work done by pupils of Whit- by Public Schools from April 4 to 19. The exhibition was organized in co-operation with the Durham Board of Education. SPRING FASHION The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Brooklin Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 152, will hold a spring fashion show at the Meadowerest Public School, Vipond Road, on April 9 at 8 p.m. There will be door prizes Beta Sigma Phi Members of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority are anxiously awaiting the arrival of 10,000 dozen daffodils from Van- couver. In the spring of 1980, Beta Sigma Phi presented a cheque to the Canadian Can- cer Society for $20,036 ex- ceeding the previous year's daffodil sales. With last year's festival selling out in two days, rather than the planned three, it is hoped that this year's festival can boast an even greater success. Local businesses have placed pre-orders for daf- fodils, which they will give to their staff and customers, or perhaps display them as a sign of their donations. Daf- fodils will be offered for sale April 2, 3 and 4 at local malls and plazas. Barbara Smith and Elizabeth Beech are co- chairpersons for this year's festival.
