Hear son is killed in action

Haliburton, March 13 (PNS) – Word reached Haliburton on Monday that Max L. McCracken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McCracken, was killed in action overseas.


Born and raised in Haliburton village, he was one of the regular fellows and a favourite among the boys.


He has been in RCA for about a year and went overseas early last summer. No particulars are at hand.


Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, Leon and Mossom, as well as two sisters, Winona and Evelyn.

Pte. M.J. McCracken, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McCracken, Haliburton, Ontario. Enlisted in Kingston, 16 June 1943. Trained at Kingston, Peterborough, Cornwall, Brantford, Camp Borden. Went overseas on 25 July 1944.
