One of Cameron’s sons who paid the supreme sacrifice in the Second World War was honoured on Sunday when citizens of all denominations attended a memorial service in Cameron United Church for Clarence Mark aged 20, who has been reported as officially presumed dead while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force overseas. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mark.

Clarence Mark was so well known and loved by all citizens of the community, that all other churches cancelled their regular service in order that the congregations might attend the memorial service and pay tribute to this hero of the air.

Rev. J.M. Spence of Cambray was in charge of the service and was assisted by Rev. Norman Greene of Fenelon Falls and Howard Northey. The church was filled to capacity as practically every resident of this tiny village, old and young, came to mourn the young man and to honour his parents. Clarence is survived by four brothers and one sister in addition to his parents.
