morning service at oclock on Sunday May 27 The Rev James I president of Toronto Confer ence the United Church of Can ada was officiating minister In the absence of the Rev Campbell the supply minis Christian education wing with the junior choir the build ing committee the architect the contractor representatives of the trustees board church school teachers and pupils and then the congregation following the min isters into the new part of the building Here the architect John the contractor Mr Gavin Morton chairman of the building committee Mr Joel Hopkins and Mr M King representing the trustees board took part in the service of dedi cation conducted by the Rev James The new wing consists of kin dergarten rooms a kitchen kitchenette a study arid room heating is sup plied throughout by an oil furn ace At the evening service greet ings were brought by the Rev John Sutton the Rev A W of the Rev ft of Kes wick and Rev Edward Mor- of Roches Point Rich mond Hill Rev Gordon Winch and Dennis Winch both candi date for the ministry from this church assisted with the service which was conducted by tho J Arnold Foster minister of United church who preached tho sermon Womens Federation members were hostesses at a so cial hour which followed the ev ening service This took place in the fireside room of the new wing VANDORF Mrs Ralph Gilbert and daugh ter Debbie of Scarboro Mrs Donald White and daughter Judith of Lindsay spent last weekend with their sister Mrs Stewart Burnett and family Mr and Mrs Bill Morgan Bob and had dinner last Mon day with Mr and Mrs Herbert Oliver Mr and Mrs A White and Bob Mr and Mrs Grant attended the funeral of Mrs Whites cousin Mr Love- Keswick public school with nine entries in the choral com petition at the ninth annual County Music Festival held in WoOdbridge early this month won eight firsts and one second With seven choirs entered seven shields were brought home Keswick public school chorus with voices singing The Fairy Ring took first prize with marks which was the highest mark at the festi val There was competition from two three or four other schools in every class In addition to the school choir QUEENSVILLE Mrs Dew was taken to York County hospital on Satur day Mr and Mrs Wilson and family spent the week end with Mrs Wm his grandmother Mrs entertained at a shower in honor of Miss Nancy Doano daughter of Mr Ralph Doane Miss Barbara and Rich ard spent part of the long week end in Buffalo Mr Doug Smith spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs J Smith his parents The Blossom Tea held Satur day afternoon in the United church and sponsored by the Evening Auxiliary was a success A number of young people from this locality had a holiday at Niagara Falls on Saturday Mrs Art spent several days in Hamilton last week Mr Jack Smith with Mrs Roy Gibson and Shirley spent Sun day at Woodland Beach Jess of Strcetsville last Thursday Fourteen members of Vandorf blanch WI attended the district annual meeting at last Wednesday Mrs Harold Dews- bury was appointed district con vener of historical research and current events Mr and Mrs William and Mrs Lome Cousins attended the annual reunion church ser vice at Smith field United church on Sunday Mr and Mrs Jack Irwin and family had Sunday dinner with Mr and Mrs Kenneth Bacon and Wayne The family and relatives gath ered at Vandorf community hall on Saturday evening when they honored Mrs Colin Pat tend en on her seventieth birthday with lovely gifts and best wishes Mr and Mrs Stewart Burnett and family were among the guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Gimber who entertained
