We only saw the country which after was strange to me through a misty veil of rain bin one saw building going on everywhere and what in trigued me most was to see a house set down on what looked like a wilderness One could only speculate on what kind of a could be lived within those walls- I Arriving at we were ushered into a beautifully decor ated hall the color scheme was of blue and white garlands and drapes made the hall a fairyland especially as all about bluebirds swung gently from high places or rested against stationery Round the Mountain and there was even a trained flea Hie concluding part of the pro gram was given over to presenta tions and farewell addresses to a retiring dignitary Then we all proceeded to enjoy the good things provided for the inner man which by this time was clamoring for sustenance Then home through the damp dark ness which had no power to quench the restful pleasure of the rush through the night Then all the Eastern Stars and we their accompanying satellites were safely set down at their des tinations and the evening vanish ed into the realm of things Showers Just as May showers of which there are many these days have brought flowers to delight us so object r I a s h r have caused As did not see a program I jnany lovely tokens of friendship can only mention a very few to give our bride elect of the names After a gracious colored rain on Joyces dark hair Jewill tint Wanda cousins of the bridetobe brought in basket after basket of gifts Frances read the accompanying notes and Mrs Hay and Mrs Doug Hope received and put the gifts on waiting tables where after lunch was over everyone could go and see them in all their beauty It was my pleasant task to pre sent Joyce with the Dickens plate from the girls of the Christmas Club who for years came for a Christmas party to Strange to say it was a shower without duplication and every one present spoke of the kindly thought behind It It is a delight ful occasion where a whole com munity feels that one belonging to it an integral part of I must not forget to mention the program which preceded the presentation Miss Cole played Here Comes the Bride and Joyce entered then Doris Harper gave an appropriate reading Miss had a little stunt for volunteers to try which was fun- Mrs George Wood and McCiure played a piano duet and Miss gave a very humorous reading Joyce In a few appropriate words expressed her apprecia tion of her friends thought ful ness and then everyone relaxed and chatted and looked at the gifts and enjoyed coffee and all usual accompaniments After that we departed for home through the welcome sunlight each one thinking of Joyce and wishing her happiness in her future life VANDORF Wesley United church Moth ers services were
