pay for the re cent Main St reconstruction project in Newmarket was passed by town council Monday night The estimated cost of the towns share in the project was 105000 last year The county and province also shared in the project Town engineer plans to give a full re port on the cost of the project a meeting of the council maternity wing The plans included partition changes in the old building which would move the adminis tration centre from its present location at the main entrance of the hospital on Davis Drive to the vicinity of the present em- entrance This would centralize the administration of fices in regards to the enlarged hospital plans The main floor of the present building was designated as a wing for chronic patients The present first floor matern ity wing would become a surgi cal suite with two major oper ating rooms a minor one and other related services such as a recovery room with four beds sterile storage and central sup plies Immediately above it In whit is presently the second floor ma ternity wing would be the ob stetrical suite with its increased facilities The basement of the present building would remain much as it is with the various departments being increased by such means as the moving of the present nurses dining room to the basement of the proposed wing The new wing would house the kitchen cafeteria and related services in
