excellent always and our service prompt and G W IUHBY MAIN ST Last week we wrote a little about the subject of Grace the Grace of God Whilst visiting with a friend who was and still unaware of thiswriters iden tity he said words to this effect This subject of Grace has al ways been a riddle to me but after reading the last column Im beginning to see light The Pulpiteer feels encouraged somewhat by such remarks Some folks write in and tell us what they think very often we go on and on without hearing a word We often wonder what folks are thinking about our little column Well here we go again and still on tlte subject of Grace The source of Grace is none other than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for we read Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ He was in the world but the world knew Him not but to as many as received Him to them gave He the power to become the sons of God even to them who should believe on His name Through man received the Grace of God by simply believing But that is not all for life springs out of death when Jesus Christ is re ceived even as we read As sin hath reigned unto death even so might Grace reign unto eternal life through Jesus Christ Now no doubt many are go ing to say that they can well be lieve that a sinner needs to be saved by the Grace of God be cause after all there is no other way for Him to get help except by the undeserved love of God but after he becomes a Christian it must be different In order to keep being a Christian one must do certain things that are right and should pray lots and read his Bible and so on and on Dear friend hear the Word of God For the Grace of God that bringeth salvation ap peared unto all men teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts we should soberly righteously and godly in this present world Not only is Jesus Christ the source of all Grace by which we are saved but He who the Source abides within the trusting soul and supplies the very Grace that sustains man in his walk of holi ness Grace teaches us concern ing holy things Grace is Gods provision to bring into being sustain and perfect His new creation in Christ Jesus It is the operation of His infinite unrestrained love on behalf of such as are worthy of everlasting punish ment It is not only Gods means of forgiving but includes all that He docs with and for the believer in raising him from his lost estate in purifying and per fecting him and finally placing him a glorious being far above all other created beings In per fect union with Himself No wonder we- constantly sing Oh to Grace how great a debt or daily Im constrained to be Well I guess the Pulpiteer has preached enough doctrine for another week Wo dont want you to get weary of reading our column but we do want you to know that there is provision In Christ for every man woman and child to live life of great joy and usefulness and to die a death of great victory With the arrival of spring weather and the approach of the gardening season attention is focused once again on the New market Horticultural society and its many activities Member ship tickets are now available They may be obtained from the membership chairman Charles
