Millard Newmarket The other day someone said to me Whats the idea of having this Town Pulpit column paper answered very simply I think told him the truth I re plied something like this Well my friend one of the reasons for the column is that we believe that every department of our life should be affected by the reli gious We believe that the world in general and the indi vidual in particular would be much better if the Christ of the I Scriptures had a chance to direct every day affairs for us So we use this medium to present His claims upon our lives preach Christ Himself Christ yesterday today and for ever the same Christ as Pro phet Priest and King Christ in His humiliation and Christ in His glory Christ as the Lamb foreordained before the founda tion of the world promised un to our first parents in the gar den of Eden witnessed by the law and the prophets Christ announced and described with growing clearness and with ard ent longing by the Prophets Christ welcomed by the godly in Israel Christ who in the fulness of lime was sent of His own blessed accord and grace came to minister to others and lay down His life as a ransom Christ who glorified God by His obedience and finally on the cross accomplished everlasting redemption Christ who is the Resurrection and the Life who is now the Saviour of sinners the strength and the hope of the saints will come again to fulfil the counsel of God and establish His kingdom Him we desire to declare even by such a humble column as this is a Person true man and yet true God in whom we possess the Father and from whom we receive the Spirit a Person so glorious that only the Scriptures can present Him to our mind and only the Spirit by whom the Scriptures were given can en able us to behold and trust Him For the ones and twos who wonder at the wisdom of such a column there are the hundreds are being helped and who wait eagerly each week for this little word of inspiration The Pulpiteer would feel his job well done if only one wayfaring soul received a little help along the pathway of life Remember The Saviour can solve every problem And the tangles of life can undo Theres nothing too hard for Jesus And nothing that He cannot do At Weans AweWtai David National Field Director Canadian National In stitute for the Blind was the guest speaker at the April 2 meeting of the Womens Assoc iation Trinity United church his mother would not let him She is right if she thinks that our training is aimed at the stand ard of professional wrestling or any modification of it Let me hasten to explain to those shar ing the above belief that an amateur wrestling club partici pates in a sport entirely different in methods and sportsmanship than professional wrestling It is only natural for a boy to want to develop himself physi cally and to be able to hold his own and compete with his lows This should be ed in the proper direction by a competant coach in a gym In a wrestling club one learns by progressive exercises to
